Herman Oosterwijk, MS, MBA, CPC who has almost 20 years experience with Medical Imaging, working for corporations such as Philips, AT&T; and Kodak in positions ranging from software architect to business unit manager for PACS and Teleradiology Products. Herman Oosterwijk has been involved with the ACR/NEMA and DICOM standardization effort from the beginning, participating in many different committees and working groups. He currently is an active participant in the DICOM working Group VI, the "clearing house" for all extensions and changes to the DICOM standard. E-mail: [email protected]
Paul T. Gihring is also one of our instructors, who specializes in connectivity. Paul has an extensive experience in medical networking architecture and software and detailed knowledge of the DICOM Standard through its previous employment with GE Medical Systems. He has been active as part of the DICOM standards organization, in particular the Nuclear Medicine PACS committee. His specialty is DICOM instruction, hands-on training and validation because of his previous role as a senior project engineer in the development of Medical Image processing workstations. Carl T. Alletto, Certified Professional Consultant, ASQC Certified Quality Manager, Certified Software Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Auditor. He offers a broad range of experience and expertise in the development, implementation, and assessment of medical device regulations, software quality, verification/validation, ISO 9000 certification, and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices. With over 20 years experience in a Fortune 500 company as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Vice President of Quality, he understands PACS medical device regulations 510(k) guidelines, compliance, and quality standards that are critical to a your business. Mike Henderson is our HL7 instructor and is president of Eastern Informatics, Inc., an information technology consulting firm based in Silver Spring, Maryland. Mr. Henderson has twenty years' experience in the healthcare, educational, and financial areas of the IT industry. He has worked with the HL7 standard since 1992 in organizations including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Antrim Corporation (now Sunquest Commercial Systems), and Kaiser Permanente. A founding member of the HL7 Query Task Force, Mr. Henderson now serves as co-chair of the Control/Query Technical Committee of Health Level 7, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including HL7, HIMSS and AAMI.
