This Study Guide is meant for students who want to learn about the HL7� FHIR� communications standard. It will also prepare students for the HL7� FHIR� professional certification examination conducted by the HL7 organization (see www.hl7.org) as it follows closely the certification requirements. It covers all HL7� FHIR� technical interfacing skills that are highly desired for these professionals to do their job in a proficient manner. This guide is intended to be version agnostic, i.e. independent from the current version. Readers are encouraged to use the most recent on-line available FHIR� version as a resource.

Note that this publication does not cover HL7� version 3.0, the Reference Information Model (RIM), CDA� and/or HL7� Version 2.x. A separate HL7� version 2.x study guide is available from OTech, Inc.

This study guide is ideal for people who want to follow a "self-study" program using resources such as provided by the various websites, including https://www.hl7.org/fhir by providing them a tool to test their newly acquired skills and enhance their learning experience. The guide can be used in a peer-to-peer, team or classroom setting and/or form the basis for individual learning.�
