Course Objectives
You will be able to:

• Recognize the most common medical imaging modalities such as CT, MR, US, etc. and classify them according to their major parameters
  
• Identify the major health care IT standards, i.e. DICOM, HL7 and IHE, and their role and characteristics in the imaging environment
  
• Break down a complex PACS system into the individual building blocks and explain their major functions
  
• Distinguish and appreciate the differences between the various workflow scenarios in the different imaging departments to assist in preparing an own workflow analysis
  

Note: The contents of this Fundamentals course are composed of the first lessons of the corresponding courses on the subject of Medical Imaging, PACS, Healthcare standards and PACS workflow.
