The IHE (Integrating the Health Care Enterprise) activity has been sponsored by RSNA and HIMSS for the past 3 years, resulting in a series of vendor demonstrations of connectivity and integration between digital image acquisition modalities and Information Systems. The IHE technical framework is a comprehensive document that is based on both the HL7 and DICOM standard, and defines very specifically what services should be supported, to the level of detail of the individual attributes and data elements that should be supported. Several Integration profiles are specified that are not only the basis for these demonstrations, but are also used by vendors as a guide to their implementations, and potential users to specify and validate conformance.

    Who Should Attend:
Anyone who wants to learn about the IHE activity, ranging from implementers to users that want to get an in-depth knowledge of the IHE technical framework document.

    What will you learn:
You will get familiar with the IHE technical framework portion of the area you are concentrating on (DICOM or HL7). You will leave the seminar with a prototype implementation of several of the transactions that are used. This workshop is ideal for vendor who are planning to participate in the IHE demonstrations but also for vendors who are implementing DICOM or HL7 and want to conform to these profiles. Last but not least, any user who would like to learn more about integrating these systems in his own institution would greatly benefit.
