OTech's HL7 Hands On Seminar

HL7 Hands-on Workshop (1 day)

You will learn to generate and troubleshoot HL7 messages using a simple but powerful software tool. This is especially useful for implementers, service/support engineers, and system administrators.

Participants will receive a free copy of the Messaging Workbench software. This tool provides the ability to analyze message structure and content, forward and reverse engineer messages, maintain enterprise message libraries, and generate conformance profiles. Message compliance can be evaluated through the comparison of specifications engineered from actual messages.

Seminar Content - HL7 hands-on:
The most common transactions will be discussed and shown in detail. Students will create HL7 messages on their own computer for two example projects, i.e. exchanging vital signs and patient registration. The Visual basic development environment will be used as a tool for simulating these messages. This is a must for anyone who would like to generate their own HL7 messages and/or is involved with HL7 development, support or testing.
