DICOM Nodes Configuration
The
nodes used for the Storage SCU and Echo SCU service can be configured
using the DICOM Nodes dialog box. When the application is in any mode,
except for the Storage SCP mode, the DICOM Nodes dialog box can be
brought up by clicking the CONFIGURE NODES button in the main window or
by selecting Nodes from the Configure menu. The Alt + N key combination
also will display the DICOM Nodes dialog box.
DICOM
Nodes Dialog Box:

This
dialog box has a list control window, which displays all the nodes
created using the DICOM Node Details dialog box. It has ADD, EDIT,
DELETE and OK buttons at the bottom of the dialog box, which do the
following:

ADD
|
Displays
the DICOM Node Details dialog box into which all the node details
are entered and the node created.

EDIT
|
Displays
the DICOM Node Details dialog box, which contains all the
information for the selected node. These details can be edited.
|
|
DELETE
|
Clears
the node from the list.
|
|
OK
|
Makes
the selected node the current node.
|
DICOM
Node Details Dialog Box:
This
dialog box has a two-page property sheet, which is used to set the
general node information and the transfer syntax supported by the node.

Node Details Dialog Box (General Page):

On
the General Node page the following parameters can be configured:

Node
Name
|
The
node name, which is used to represent the current setting.
|
|
IP
Address
|
The
IP Address of the node.
|
|
AE
Title
|
The
Application Entity Title name.
|
|
Port
Number
|
The
port number through which the SCU will initiate any connections.
|
|
PDU
Size
|
The
maximum PDU size for this node.
|
|
Response
Timeout
|
The
amount of time the SCU will wait for a response from the SCP.
|
The
IP Address should not exceed 64 characters, the AE Title should not
exceed 16 characters and the PDU Size should be in the range 8192 to
65536. For more details about the valid characters and the valid lengths
that can be used, please refer to ACR/NEMA Standards Publications, No
PS3, 2000 DICOM Standards Part 5 – Data Structures and Encoding.
DICOM
Node Details Dialog Box (Transfer Syntax Page):
The
Transfer Syntax page has a list in which transfer syntaxes can be added,
edited or deleted using the ADD, EDIT and DELETE buttons on the right of
the dialog box. A check box is displayed to the left of each listed
transfer syntax. These boxes can be checked to indicate that the node
supports the transfer syntax. The Check All check box can be used to
check all the transfer syntaxes displayed in the list.
