About the Seminar
This course is a typical example of ?blended learning? because it uses books, self-paced CD's as well as face-to-face training, workshop, and an actual site visit to an institution. You will get a thorough understanding of all the aspects of a typical PACS System Administrator's job. In addition, one gains the technical background that allows one to do his or her job in a knowledgeable manner. Our seminars are limited with regard to the attendance and is very interactive with a great deal of hands-on throughout the week. In addition, we include several guest speakers from the industry providing their perspective and sharing their experiences.

Detailed Learning Objectives
Participants will understand the basic components of a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), the associated clinical workflow, and the technical aspects to exchange the image and information management information between digital modalities, PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS). This will allow the participants to perform PACS System Administration duties which include:

  • Managing the installation and/or enhancements of a PACS system.
  • Continuously improving the system efficiency and integrity.

Feedback from our Students
"I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who is new to PACS, interested in PACS or is working in the Radiology field and would like expand their knowledge of PACS. I have been working in the medical field for 12+ years, 3 in Radiology, and have attended many training classes and seminars. I would place this seminar in the top 3."
Jerry Nowak, Hologic MA

"I researched the various PACS Admin courses and chose OTech's for location and expertise. I felt the price was comparable of other classes. I would definitely recommend the class for future or new PAC SAs. The materials were too good to be true. There were CD's before you get to class and more handed out in class. I received a binder chocked full of information and two books to read in my spare time. Melissa's handouts were also very much appreciated. All the materials are an excellent resource."
Michelle Moser, BSRS,RT Memorial Hermann Southwest TX

"I was very pleased with the course and have recommened it to several people. The class rescources (software, books, contacts, etc.) were much more than I expected. The hands on computer work was invaluable. With a clinical background (20 years) and very little IT experience, I feel I can now "catch-up" with the world of PACS. Thanks again."
Todd Walker, Radiology Manager, Columbia Orthopedic Group

"This training has more than met my expectations, a lot of thought has been put into the development of the program and it shows. I would rank this as one of the best training sessions I have attended. From the location to the content and guest speakers, everything was exceptional. Herman has provided a great service to the health care industry by developing these training materials/seminars."
Lisa Shaffer Busby

"Excellent class, I learned a great deal. This class taught me more than I could have learned in a year on site."
Tony Mendoza, Comanche Memorial Health
