This high paced web-based seminar teaches the essential components of the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) specification. In particular, radiology imaging profiles such as scheduled workflow, IOCM and others, and related IT infrastructure (ITI) profiles dealing with image and information management such as PAM, PIX/PDQ and XDS are discussed.

Audience

This seminar is intended for professionals who support, manage and develop medical imaging devices such as PACS and departmental information systems, enterprise archiving systems and systems that are image enabled such as Electronic Health Records. This can be PACS administrators, biomedical engineers, service engineers and IT personnel including interface analysts. This seminar is also useful for anyone who wants to learn about this standard as they are looking for a career in healthcare imaging and informatics such as software developers, integration and interface specialists.

Detailed Learning Objectives

Students will understand the IHE specifications, i.e. the protocol details such as the profiles, its corresponding actors and transactions and will be able to read these specifications and interpret them.
IMPORTANT:The IHE profiles discussed in this course are based on DICOM and HL7 transactions. In order to optimally benefit from this course, a working knowledge of these standards is highly recommended. If lacking, it is strongly suggested to take the Core HL7 and Core DICOM training prior to this class. Another option is to take the SIIM online or face-to-face training which will provide an even more in depth coverage of DICOM and HL7.

Class Structure

This is a synchronous delivered, instructor lead, live web session. This seminar will cover a lot of materials using a high pace. The seminar has 4 sections/modules of one hour each, each module includes several exercises and a Q and A session.

Instructions

It is strongly recommended to dial-in to the virtual classroom 15 minutes prior to the class to resolve any technical issues with audio, internet, etc.

Participation

You purchase a single "seat" which means that you should not share the invite for the meeting with others. If you wish to have several participants, you can order additional seats. Each participant will than get a copy of the hand-outs and license to the applicable e-book.
