5.2 How to Use Storage SCU Service

  1. Switch to Storage SCU mode by either clicking on the STORAGE SCU button in the Mode window on the main window or by selecting Storage SCU from the Modes menu.

  2. Click on CONFIGURE NODES button or select Nodes from the Configure menu to bring up the DICOM Nodes dialog box.

  3. If you want to create a new node, click on the ADD button. The DICOM Node Details dialog box will appear.

  4. In the DICOM Node Details dialog box, enter the Application Entity Title, the port number that the system should use for sending the request, the IP address of the node and the maximum PDU Size to be used to negotiate when making an association request.

  5. Click on the Transfer Syntax tab to go to the Transfer Syntax page and select the types of transfer syntaxes that will be supported by this node.

  6. Set the calling AE Title using the General Configuration dialog box. It will appear in the Calling AE Title combo box below the Mode window on the main window.

  7. Select a called AE Title using the Called AE Title combo box in the main window. Verify that the called AE Title corresponds to the node displayed in the Node Name combo box. Note: There may be any number of nodes with the same called AE Title.

  8. Click on the CHOOSE FILES button and select the images to be sent. The images can be either a DICOM Part 10 file format or a valid dataset stored in the media. For more details, please refer to ACR/NEMA Standards Publications, No PS3, 2000 DICOM Standards.

  9. Click on the SEND button to transmit the image files.

  10. The transmission of the images can be stopped at any time by clicking on the CANCEL button.

  11. Interpret the displayed information.
