| Study Group Mentors |
Study group Mentors are experienced PACS professionals with several years of experience who assist new certificate candidates to study for the exams. This is a semi-formalized process whereby a study group participant follows a study guide on a weekly basis, discusses the subject matter and completes certain assignments. This process is more or less self-guided using the OTech Learning Management System (OTech-U).

| Interested in becoming a mentor? |
If you are interested in serving as a mentor, this could be a rewarding experience as you assist other professionals achieve a higher level of understanding and acquire appropriate certification. Your commitment would require about 1-2 hours a week for the duration of the study group, which is no longer than 10 weeks. This is a voluntary position, and you would have free access to all applicable study materials available from OTech. All other related materials would be available from OTech for your personal use at a 40% discount. Contact our course coordinator for more details.

Bill Gregg, MS, CPSA, CIIP is the PACS Administrator at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. Bill has been working with PACS and Medical Imaging Informatics for 13 years, and has been in IT for 25 years. LSUHSC-S is a 400+ bed hospital creating 180,000 procedures per year. Current 2008/9 projects are the implementation of a statewide (10 hospital) integrated RIS/PACS/VR system, as well as integrating with the state rural hospital coalition.

Tarun Mahendroo has over 20 years of experience in the health care industry. After working in India as a general physician for six years, he immigrated to the USA and started a career in Radiology Informatics at a large academic medical center in Chicago. He is a Certified Imaging and Informatics Professional (CIIP), Epic Radiant certified RIS administrator, with a master’s of Science (MS) in Health System Management (HSM), and a masters in Project Management (MPM). He has worked with Siemens PACS, DR Systems PACS, has working knowledge of I-Site Radiology PACS, has implemented PACS Digital dashboard, & critical results reporting applications. Additionally he is experienced in selecting and implementing a Voice Recognition systems and training Radiologists. He has worked with several Radiology Information Systems such as IDXRad, Cerner, and QuadRIS.

John Sole, CPSA, CIIP, is formally trained in computer science and also holds ARRT certifications in both radiography and computed tomography. He worked as a radiologic technologist for eight years while experiencing workflow from the small 30 bed hospital all the way up to a 1,000 bed university hospital. He served than as a PACS analyst with the University of Wisconsin hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. After that, he served as a PACS administrator with the OSF Healthcare system in Illinois and the Swedish American health system also in Illinois. John is currently employed by the Swedish American health system and also the president of JS PACS, a PACS consulting company. JS PACS hosts a PACS Administrator Discussion forum and provides mentoring and support for PACS Administrators.
